There’s a collective sense of doom in the world, a feeling that we are living through dark ages. Perhaps you reading these words are one of those that have given up on the idea that things can get better, for hope is often one of the most painful emotions to hold onto.
However, we at Rose Emporium believe that humanity is closer than it ever has been to a liberated existence. The capabilities of our technological, intellectual, and social prowess have reached heights never before seen. For the first time in human history, we have the capacity to create a global community free from war, scarcity, and cruelty. Not only that, but a world where every human can reach their full, glorious potential. Think of all the brilliant minds stuck toiling for subsistence in professions that only make the global situation worse. Think of all the things we could accomplish as a unified collective and how much more pleasant the world would be to live in if we organized based on mutual needs, wants, and desires, rather than everyone marching lockstep under orders.
As artists, we do not have all the answers on how to accomplish this, but we do have a vision. A vision of a beautiful world worth manifesting. While the first Renaissance focused on bringing humanity to a new level of artistic, philosophical, and scientific merit, the New Renaissance aims to inspire the collective unconscious. These are the patterns that influence our thoughts and behavior beyond our direct control. Art, philosophy, and writing are the ways to reprogram our brains and the tools to reformat our culture into something sustainable.
